Local Outreach Supports 12 ministries within the High Point area. The ministries include:
Caroline’s Promise – an organization to help triad families with the adoption process by providing scholarships and education regarding adoption.
Child Evangelism Fellowship
Summer Russell is out of the High Point Office as she oversees ministry to children in Randolph County with Good News Clubs throughout the school year and 5 Day Clubs in the summer. (www.gospelcom.net)
Fellowship of Christian Athletes CBC supports the local branch of FCA. FCA challenges coaches and athletes on the professional, college, high school, junior high and youth levels to use the powerful medium of athletics to impact the world for Jesus Christ. (www.fca.org)
The Gideons
Gideons provides Bibles to schools and businesses. “Memorial” and “In Honor of” envelopes are available in the main lobby.
Habitat for Humanity
CBC contributes monthly to supply needed building materials for the local Habitat homes. We recently dedicated the home of the Abamagals, a CBC family, which we were able to help build.
High Point Jail Ministry
Chaplain Joyce Setchfield recently took over the duties at the High Point Jail which ministers to the spiritual needs of prisoners.
High Point Young Life
CBC supports the local branch of Young Life which ministers to students in area high schools. Many of our own CBC students are involved in reaching out to their peers through YL. They meet weekly for singing, sharing and a testimony time where students can bring their friends to a “safe” place for hearing the gospel.
Home to Home
Home to Home is a non-profit organization which warehouses and provides household furniture and appliances for needy people through the local church.
Interfaith Hospitality
Interfaith is an organization that mobilizes communities to help low-income families achieve sustainable independence. CBC helps in the area of providing transportation, meals and overnight chaperoning on a quarterly basis at Oakview Methodist Church.
Open Door Ministries
Open Door Ministries is an organization that helps those less fortunate. Whether it’s a hot meal or a place to spend the night Open Door Ministries is available to help. CBC supplies the meal on the third Friday of each month for about 125-150 people. (www.odm-hp.org)
Pregnancy Care Center
PCC is a support group for women who are in need of emotional support and physical needs during an unplanned pregnancy. The Pregnancy Care Center also provides Bible studies and counseling to women who have lost a child.
Search Ministries
Search is an evangelistic outreach group who seeks out the unbeliever in life-style evangelism. John Willett is supported monthly by CBC. John holds Bible studies in High Point and Greensboro for both men and women’s groups. (www.searchnational.org)
Friendship Outreach
On the first and third Saturday mornings from 9:00 - noon a group of individuals walk the area off Old Winston Rd. ministering to 84 homes. They put together gift bags to give out which include canned food, bread or other necessities. Contact Wayne Wingfield at 336-688-8868 for more information.
World Relief
World Relief has been in High Point since 1986 working to alleviate the suffering of refugees. In partnership with local Christians and churches, they welcome to the United States those approved by the U.S. Department of State and equip the refugees physically and spiritually to begin a new life with new hope.
